Hi

Would really appreciate some input, phoned up today to check on status of appeal, they said the never received it (I did it online)

They claimed that they dont accept appeals online, I disagreed and have sent them all the screenshots of the appeals process online, and the email accepting my appeal..

They are now running around in a panic (she forgot to press mute on her phone, and could hear her and a another person talking frantically)

where do I stand here, are they likely to just offer me a place if I really push it, or will they simply say sorry!

I doubt they'll simply offer you a place! They shoudl just arrange the appeal (quickly!).

it is for first admission, we were told 2 months ago after losing out we were 1st on the waiting list, we are now 4th (despite us missing out by 1.8 mts)

I wont win the appeal, as the only reason I have is how they have measured the distance

You will be counted as a "single" appeal unless by some lucky co-incidence the "block" appeals for the school in question have not taken place yet.
You need to push them for a date, which in theory needs to be within 40 school days of them accepting your appeal the first time. Realistically that is not going to happen given they have lost the appeal application, so you need to push for a date in 2 to 3 weeks time. If they have already done the "block" appeals for the school, they will effectively have most of the required information available, so it should be more about the physical issues of making arrangements. If possible the admission authority should use the same panel but this may not be possible given the circumstances and holidays etc.
It will not directly aid your appeal but you clearly can question whether any of the admission arrangements were also flawed as they have made this mistake.
