I have a junior appeal coming up. I have been recently diagnosed with post natal depression and my brother lives near the school we are appealing as it is the neighbouring school of dd infant school he is currently helping with dropping dd off when I am not well. I haven't mentioned this in the appeal letter as wasn't diagnosed then. Is it worth mentioning now. Thank you

It won't harm your case to mention it but the panel may not give it much weight.

The only reason I'm mentioning it is because I rang ace and they said it would help as it is a neighbouring school and all of my dd friends are going there and at this difficult time she needs her friends. Also my sister helps take dd to school and she lives near the school so she can take if she can't go there then I won't have this help. Do you think it would help? Thanx

The short answer is that I don't know enough about your case to say whether or not it will help. If ACE think it will then I would mention it and back it up with evidence if possible (letter from your GP, say). But at the end of the day it will be up to the appeal panel to decide whether or not they think this makes any difference.
