I am looking to buy some aids to improve pencil grip and hopefully help handwriting.

Has anyone tried a writing CLAW on a pencil or is a simple triangular grip better? I think I had also seen a previous post about a pen or pencil starting with an S but i cant remember the brand.

Any recommendations?

My DD got sent home with a couple of grips from school, one triangular and one which was more shaped to help correct her grip. It has helped and she is holding the pen correctly without the grip now.

The pen and pencils you refer to from a previous post are made by Stabilo and are called Easy and come in left or right handed versions.

There was also mention in another thread describing a method of picking up the pen/pencil so as to hold it correctly to start writing. Place the pen/pencil with the nib towards you and then pick it up using your thumb and index finger and then flip it over and in doing so the second finger automatically moves itself under the pen/pencil to the correct grip. Also works if you take a pen/pencil from someone. Clip on UTUBE showing what I describe if need it demonstrating.

Thanks very much for this. Yes it was stabilo I had seen on a previous post.

Anyone have experience of the writing CLAW?
