Any teachers around? Worksheet help needed please.

I have put a picture of the worksheet on my profile if any kind soul would have a look as we cannot agree on what this sheet means.

Does it mean you can only have combinations of 0 thimbles, 1 thimble, 2 thimbles on each set of shelves i.e. 012, 021, 120, 210, 102, 201 - 6 solutions

Or does it mean you can have 0thimbles, 1 thimble or 2 thimbles anywhere on the shelves i.e. 000, 001, 002, 222, 210, 101, 111 etc

We have been visiting family this evening and it seems to be split as to which way to do it.

I think your second suggestion - i.e. there could be 000, 001 etc.

Well, not ones about Li and her thimbles.

Claire why is a worksheet about Li and her thimbles less worthy than ones in your independent school ?

Are there any obvious signs about where is came from? It looks a bit like a BEAM sheet to me, but it's too small to see.

I'd think it'd be something like:

0 / 0 / 0
0 / 0 / 1
0 / 0 / 2
0 / 1 / 0
0 / 1 / 1
0 / 1 / 2
1 / 0 / 0
1 / 1 / 0
1 / 1 / 1
1 / 2 / 0
1 / 2 / 1
1 / 2 / 2
etc!

At a quick glance, I'd say second way as thats why there are so many blanks to fill in.
