Key Stage 2 practice SATS paper for 2006

I have just found a practice SATS paper in DDs messy bedroom!!

The Reading paper was called "Heart Beat"

DD answered upto, and including Number 23b, which means she would be able to gain a maximum score of 37. However, in total the maximum score she could gain would be 50.

DD got 17 right, but didn't get any of the ones that she'd have to 'read between the lines' correct.

Would aybody be able to tell me what level this would get her please?

So were the 17 that she got right one mark questions?

littlelegsmum · 15/06/2012 12:11

She got:

3 two mark q's right (one was a 2 out of 3 right)

All the rest were one mark each

So, assuming she got 20/50, I think she just scrapes a 4c.

missmapp · 15/06/2012 12:46

If she is struggling to get the 2/3 mark ones correct I 'd say thats a 3a/4c

littlelegsmum · 15/06/2012 13:41

Thanks for your help. The teacher has market it and she got 17 right.

Sorry, not 17 right, 17 marks!

17/50 would be 3a then.

littlelegsmum · 15/06/2012 15:17

Thanks Iam - I think it could of been worse as a few of the answers she's got right did have the wrong answer crossed out next to it. I'll ask her what changed her mind.

I'm getting impatient waiting for SATS results now

Think they go to schools on about the 9th July; ours doesnt give them to parents until a couple of days before the end of term.

littlelegsmum · 15/06/2012 17:09

Is that so us parents can't question things Grin or am I being cynical?!

It's def so that parents can't hassle the teachers.

Good schools hand out SAT results as soon as thy get them - bad schools hand them out the very end of term. :) :(

littlelegsmum · 15/06/2012 17:48

In that case I'll get dd's on the last day Grin

Results will be sent to school on Tuesday 10 July and threshold tables published the same day. Schools can report results immediately or in the annual school report. We generally tell our pupils verbally once we have checked the papers for any errors and calculated the sub levels then add these results to the annual reports as written confirmation.

littlelegsmum · 15/06/2012 17:56

Just asked dd why she changed some answers and she said she got help with the 3 mark question. So you can realistically knock 2 marks off, at least!

Would that change the level at all?

IndigoBell Think your comment is a bit unfair, they tie in with reports going out aswell.

littlelegsmum · 15/06/2012 18:00

Thanks snowball . . I don't have any faith in the school so am hoping everything has been marked externally. They've already inflated dd levels this year!

For the 2006 paper, Level 3 covers from 10 to 17 marks so we would have 10-12 as 3c, 13-15 as 3B and 16-17 as 3A.

littlelegsmum · 15/06/2012 19:06

Thanks snowball. Thats cleared it up for me :)
