hello everyone
i have posted lots on the appeal topic already so thanks for all the help i have received.

Our panel is tmw - basically, the local MP advised us to just go for it due to our sons medical condition (which we had not submitted previosuly)- he said the balance of prejudice to him not being allowed in outweighed the balance of prejudice to school in accepting him etc etc- we sent the letter off then went on hols. came home and researched it further and mumsnetters explained that as its ICS balance of prejudice does not apply. (as a school governor am guessing mp new that but nevermind! Angry ) so our statement tmw is all same facts about our son but arguing that not to admit him would be perverse.

is it a problem that we have changed tack? should we tell them tmw? am pretty worried now.

That'll be fine. Quite often, parents submit the outline of their case with the initial documents and then add to it/put a gloss on it at the hearing. You could perhaps make the point tomorrow that the prejudice to your son in not being admitted is so great that the refusal of a place is perverse, which ties it all together.

Oh, and good luck.

Unfortunately local politicians of all varieties and parties are very good at coming up with their views on such matters but they do so from a position of not knowing much and no practical experience.
Go with what you have and see how things go but it is what the panel think around the issue of the decision made being perverse

Good luck x
