Hello
I wondered if anyone knew what feeder school/nursery have good results assisting girls into Putney High Juniors, does PH have a connection with a preferred nursery school?
Many thanks

They assess the girls at 3 / 4, if a child is going to get in it will. All the nurseries for working mums in putney ie Noddys, Gwendolen house and pre schools ie lion house have girls going on to putney high. In my experience it has nothing to do with these nurseries/schools as none of them do anything to actively increase the numbers being accepted it is all about the child and what Putney high are looking for.

Completely agree with blue yonder. And although they say it doesn't make a difference, the birthdays of the girls there are definitely skewed to the first half of the year, although obviously there are some summer born girls. DDs old nursery gets quite a few in there but they definitely don't prepare them or say that they'll get them in there. If anything they are not terribly enthusiastic about it (at junior level).

At the age of 3 or 4, you've either got it or you haven't, a nursery can't do a thing. I didn't put dd1 in for a school like this as she was very shy and is dyspraxic and I knew she'd wilt in any test environment. She got in to a very good school at 7+ though. I suspect ds who is supremely confident and focused would have sailed into any school at 4 but we'll never know because I didn't put it to the test.
