our school has organised one this July - just wondering if your DC had gone and are you happy with your DC going

perhaps this answers my question!

I think they are too young at 6-7 years for camp!

I was going to ask how old they were! I think 6-7 is too young for camp, especially if it's actual camping.

In our school, Year 5 go away for two nights and Year 6 go away Mon-Fri. They go to residential centres and sleep in dorms. They have a ball, but they are old enough to enjoy it!

At ds's school, they start camping in yr2 - just one night in the school grounds then more as they get older

Beavers camp and they are 5 3/4 - 8. Kids love it and as long as they have warm waterproof clothes (and shorts, sun hat etc) and a warm sleeping bag I can't see the problem.
