my son yr 1 was not to excited about going back yesterday so i phones one of his friends mums and he came over for breakfast and came to school with us and they were both really excited then . could try that if he doesnt want to go again tomorrow.

I'm not particularly excited about going in tomorrow, either! Not sure if there will be tears, but having slept in all week, it's quite likely!

On a serious note, it could just be fear of the unknown, even if the unknown should be fairly known. Children get out of the school routine so quickly it can be anxiety provoking to have to readjust.

I'm sure he'll be back to his usual self by tonight. If he's not, then you need to think about if something at school is bothering him.
