In the autumn term DD2s teacher said she should easily attain a L3 .She scored 26/30 on her level 2 paper but was not put in for level 3? Is this normal

DS got 26/30 on a practice paper back in March, not sure if he did a level 3 as all the kids did their SATS last week at the same time so DS said they all did numeracy together iyswim.

(So some could have been doing level 2 and some level 3).

He said it was "easy" which to me suggests it was a level 2 paper, but time will tell....Grin

We did ours in February to inform our mid-year assessments. Our end of year levels will be teacher assessment supported by work in books.

There are several virtually identical threads on this at the moment, and no-one seems to be taking any notice of what's being said:

The tests are to inform the teacher's assessment.
The teacher's assessment will be reported at the end of the year.
The teacher's assessment can over-ride the test level (as long as there is sufficient evidence in books)
The guidelines state that teachers should only give one test.

How (and why?) are parents so aware of the test results, anyway? Performance in class far outweighs performance in the tests.
