missed KS1 sats?

My son is in year 2. He's been at home the last two days with the flu - really ill, lots of throwing up. Only just realised now logging in to MN that it is sats week for KS1. If he's missed tests will they get him to sit them later? If they don't what will this mean for his levels?

I doubt very much he'll be improved enough to go to school tomorrow. The raging fever is gone but he still has a temperature, and last threw up just before lunchtime. He's clearly on the mend though, so I expect he'll be back at school on Thursday. However it is also possible he'll get worse again so may end up missing the whole week!

No he hasn't missed them he can do them any time over the next few weeks but the level reported is his teacher assessment anyway.

There is no week for KS1 says, teachers can do them anytime from February and would generally choose a day when everyone is present. His levels are taken from a teacher assessment based on his work throughout KS1 and the test is there as another firm of assessed work. The teacher should already know what level he is without having to test him and any differences between test level and teacher assessment level will be moderated within school (and sometimes by external moderators) to give a good, fair level.

cheers for that mrz, good to know. What do you mean by level reported is his teacher's assessment? What are the tests for?
