Wildlife/nature magazine for 6 yr old

DS is really, really into nature/wildlife/conservation. I'd like to get him a subscription to a magazine on these kind of topics, but I'm having trouble finding anything suited to his age. There seem to be adult ones, which are way too wordy and boring, and the Octonauts (which he adores, but is a bit old for the magazine). Does anyone know of a child friendly wildlife magazine? It wouldn't need to be monthly, although that would be ideal - quarterly would be okay.

My son enjoyed NG kids

Mine had something from the RSPB (which is not just about birds) at that age. They do different magazines for each age group which are really good. As an alternative you could try to see what your local Wildlife Trust has, as they publish a magazine for all children with sections that detail events local to you.

This is the RSPB Wildlife Explorers link:

And this is the link to the Wildlife Trust children's page:

My just 7 yo loves Animal Planet - we did NG kids last year but it didn't grab her as much at the time but likes the odd one I buy her now.

Hi Lovage:

Join your local county wildlife trust: link here: www.wildlifetrusts.org/

They have great open days and outings for children and they regularly send magazines.

It's something you can do one Sunday a month and it's a nice day out for everybody.

I don't mind NG Kids but The magazine always seems to come with a whole lot of toot and sweets with not much content suitable for a 6 yo and £3.20 a mag it is is on the steep side
