Year 2 maths SATS... Any year 2 teachers about?

I have a question about the apparatus used/ allowed in the maths SATS. Please can anyone tell me what will be available for children to use?

I am interested to find out which calculation methods the children would be able to use 'on the day', that they may have used previously, which rely on using equipment. (Eg counting on using a number line, or adding with the help of a hundred square, for example.)

Does the child have to be able to read the questions? I know dd would be penalised massively for being unable to read question.

Children can have questions read to them.

The child does not have to read the questions.

If they'll only need help with a couple of questions they'll probably do the test in class and put their hand up if they can't read a question.

If they'll need help with most of the questions they'll probably do it somewhere quiet with a TA reading all the questions to them.

Either way you can be sure school will be very keen that your DCs math score is as high as it can be.

Also, are there different levels of paper?

Yes, there is a level 2 and a level 3 paper.
