Travelling between 2 primary schools - Secondary Results.....

Hi all,

I am wondering if you can help please.

We are currently out of the catchment for the primary our children attend. In a couple of year our eldest will be applying for secondary and next winter our youngest will be applying for primary (we also have a middle child). Luckily if we want it he will get into same school but I just don't know what to do with secondary.

Our options

  1. move into catchment of the secondary school the current primary school feeds into. This school is likely to improve a little as the demographics are changing slightly but it's still much lower than other options. No risk then with places.

  2. move into catchment of a good secondary (with a better option 2nd choice secondary than the other area) and put DC3 into one of the feeder schools. This will mean school run between 2 primary schools for max of 4 years but hopefully a place might come up sooner and the older 2 will get one of the better secondaries.

I'm really concerned about the secondary options but don't know what to do and how much weight I should give the results I find published.

Any advice would be appreciated.
