Just saw your other thread and looked for the original - found it! My son attended the Genevieve Nursery, which is the Nursery of Thornton College, until primary age when boys aren't welcome! It's a single sex junior school and senior school up to 16. He had a wonderful time there. The best thing I could have done to move him from purely play based to a nursery that introduced reading and maths and was a bit more of a challenge. He is doing really well now and I am confident that it is down to the nursery. He even had ballet lessons (which he loved!). My daughter will start the nursery in September and she will go through the school. I noted that someone referred to it as 'sweet'. It is but I don't think that this is a bad thing. I want my daughter to be a child not a 'wannabee teenager' by the age of 8. With regards to it being non-academic, I haven't got that impression. The results are excellent. Can't really comment on Akeley. I had a look around it for my son for Reception and liked what I saw, but preferred the local primary as it had equally small classes and meant he would have local friends he could bike round to see when he is older! Have a look at Thornton. I really like it.
