Can someone please explain KS2 reading levels/bands? I am really confused. Ds got a level 3 at the end of year 2 and I think was reading white level books at that stage. Although I understand that normally equates to 2a.
Since than has moved up 1 band. Not lime but another colour that I guess school uses. Often comes home with treetops level 12 and 13 to give you an idea. Is this ok for this stage in year 3? Ds is reading them brilliantly but I guess is not being moved up due to compehension side.
Many thanks.

There are only 4 or 5 colour bands in KS2, so they normally only go up 1 a year.....
