Should i speak to dd's teacher about this?

My dd is in her first year of primary school. In the course of chatting the other night she said she saw a boy from the year above hurting a boy in her class. She said it was behind the slide so no one would see. She doesn't know the bigger boys name.
I feel quite upset about it. I know the little boy who was being hurt and he is very timid and seems younger and quieter than others in the class. I see how he would be an easy target. Dd seemed quiet upset by it too. She said it made her angry but that the bigger boy is very mean so she didn't say anything.
Should i tell dd's teacher? It happened last week and only dd's word it actually happened.
Thanks

Yes, certainly! Poor little boy, I hope he's OK. Your daughter sounds very lovely, you must be so proud. Smile

Thanks everyone. I'll have a word with her tomorrow.
LadySybil How nice of you to say so. I am proud of her. She has a little sister so she knows the importance of being kind to smaller ones.
