Does anyone have any experience of these schools? We are moving to this area next month and have to apply for school places for my dc's but i dont know the area at all so am kind of going in blind. You can only tell so much from looking at the schools website and reading the ofsted report!
TIA

Hi vajazzler. I was brought up in wednesbury and it has changed an awful lot since I lived there. It is a bit, aherm, rough. (really sorry to anybody living there) I have just looked at the ofsted for the school and I went to and it was pretty poor. I am not too sure about Walsall though, there are areas which which are better than others. Why not try streetly very close to Walsall, a very popular school is lindens I live in Sutton Coldfield which has lots of good schools, a fab park and is a lovely place to raise children. Hth!

I'm a bit out of date but I used to be a governor at Whitehall Junior10 years ago and it always seemed a nice school. Nicer than Palfrey Primary which was opposite my house. Joseph Leckie (the high school) has always had a dire reputation.

I used to live literally around the corner from there Grin I went to wood green High which is just under the motorway bridge. It was fine when I was there, I know that there has been a large growth in families from various ethnic backgrounds. I'm 35 now so it will have changed a lot! Have you been for a visit to the area? Can you consider independent school? I know hydesville has a very good reputation. Secondary schools, there's queen Mary's grammar which is the best in the area. How old are your children? At least you will have ikea on your doorstep Wink
