Essex or Hertsfordshire?

Hello mums,
We're thinking about relocating to Billericay or Letchworth Garden City shortly. We currently live in WGC but found the properties over here are too expensive if you want to have a big house in the catchment area of an 'outstanding' primary school.

I would be very grateful if someone could give me some feedback about these both areas as we're not familiar with any of them. I know there are good schools in Billericay because we have friends living there but don't know anything about Letchworth. We'd like to stay in Herts but finding both (school & house) may be more tricky than in Essex (?).

Thanks!

Both secondary schools in billericay are fantastic but no idea about the primary schools.
