Hi can the catchment area be changed without a public consultation? Our catchments have been changed in to council wards . X

There will be a consultation and this will be carried out as part of the admission arrangements, some 18 months in front of the actual admission date. So for september 2012, the consultation would have been from around January 2011, the agreed admission arrangements have to have been agreed by a date in April 2011. Whether the general public, with no connection to the school, would actually know about it is open to conjecture.

Ask the LEA when the consultation took place. Can you find old consultation documents on their website? Can your local councillor give you any information - most councillors would take an active part in any consultation?
