You mentioned that you'd be interested to see how this book is taught to a group of 9 and 10 yr olds. Well, DS has now started LOTF's at school.
DS knows that there is 'unacceptable' language use, and that at any point the boys may go into the other group if they feel uncomfortable with the book.
He explained to me that at the time the book was written some words and phrases were used differently to how we would now use them.
Whilst talking to DS, he asked if I would be able to help him with home reading if he didn't understand things. I'm pleased he said this, as I'd like to keep tabs on how he's getting on with it.
I'm happy so far that enough 'prep' and thought has gone into this.
