Primary School waiting list order

I am awaiting the placement offer for ds1 into primary school (due 3pm Friday). I have a strong preference for our first choice for a variety of practicality and educational reasons, though these reasons are unlikely to win any appeal.

We live on the fringes of the catchment area and understand that some years we would be offered a place and some we would not. Most of the neighbours children have got places but we've also known some left dissapointed.

In the event that we do not get a place is there anything I can to affect our priority on the weighting list?

Thanks in advance.

Probably not. The waiting list is held on the same order as the admissions priorities. Unless you neglected to supply relevant information, you should already been in the "right" place on the list. If you have new information which would be you up into a higher category, you would need to submit it quickly.

The waiting list is held in admission priority order, so exactly how they altercate the places to begin with. The only way to up priority on a waiting list is to a) Move closer to the school or b) if there is a medical or social need criteria and you feel you should be in that category but didn't submit evidence of this at the time of application you can submit it after altercations and if you are accepted into that category and it is higher priority you will be put on this list with that higher priority. c) If you have an older sibling at another school, transfer them to the desired school and you will be given sibling priority from the sibling start date.
These are the only ways to move up the lists priority.
