stuck on phonemes.help

How may phonemes in the word SNAIL? I can't decide and can hear myself saying the word differently each time I say it!

I thought 4, but now I am saying it like there is 3. S nai ul.
I am rubbish at all this, have 2 older children and never got in such a pickle with them!

I am just starting teach DD (4) the phonics sounds/phonemes and I would have said the same as WowOoo.
