We have the school place, what next??

I will go to the school uniform shop to find out what dd needs and colours etc.

Can I arrange a visit to have a look around with dd (not done that yet)

What else do we do? Do teachers visit homes now? When do we find out what hours they do to start with?

Put your name down for afterschool club or look for a childminder.

Find out what other children you know are going there and tell your DD if she knows them, or try to get the DCs to meet up if they dont know each other.

You should get a letter from school inviting you to a parents information meeting - may not be for a months or so though.

i would wait til you buy anything uniform wise. For example at our parent visit last year at dd school we were told not to bother with a PE kit til after the xmas as they didnt need one as just bare feet and uniform!

I would imagine they will arrange some sort of visit for your dd anyway -most do.
