What age do you apply for primary places please?

Ds2 is 4 this year but wont start reception til Sept next year - sept birthday and only 1 admission per year.

When will I need to apply for a place?

it will be this autumn.

In our local authority it was apply by Dec the whatever 2011 for places Sep 2012.

If you are in England the deadline for applications is January 15th 2013.

I think you may be wrong. My dd is 4 in June and starts primary school in september this year!!! Like you I thought out was next year but I was wrong. Deadline was 15th Jan 2012. I missed it by 3 months because I thought the same as you

PimpMyTunnel the cut-off is 1st September, so those turning 4 in June, July & August all start this year and needed to have applied in January 2012, but those turning 4 in Sept, Oct, Nov will wait a year and apply in Jan 2013.
