Kilmorie primary school, Forest Hill

DS has been offered a place at this school, though it wasn't my first choice. I visted last year and wasn't massively impressed.

I have heard mixed things about it, and mixed things about how it is progressing. I know it has a new head, but she wasn't there when I visited, so I have no idea what her plans are to imrove the school. I have heard something vague from some parents (whose children do not go there yet) that they think it might get 'outstanding' in its next Ofsted, but no idea what they have heard to give them that impression!

When I visited it looked quite chaotic and I am particularly concerned about discipline, especially as its going to be so big with 90 a year from September.

Can anyone give me any information about this school, good or bad, or any insight into whether it really does seem to be improving? Anyone with kids there at the moment, or who went to a more informative visit than I did?

Hello, we have also got into Kilmorie this year but we did put it as our first choice. We were pretty much equidistance from Dalmain to Kilmorie and deceided to put it as our first choice. The headteacher is really lovely and from what I hear from parents who have children there, is really taking it in the right direction. We also got to meet some of the other teachers and they seemed great. What really made us choose Kilmorie over Dalmain was the fact that every parent we spoke to whise children attended Kilmorie, loved it and had nothing but really positive things to say about it. I have never heard of any parents having problems with discipline, although I do think there was a problem with it being disorganised but that was under the old head. We are really looking forward to sending our DD there, I think she will love it there. No idea about the OFSTED, although I would say the current one is quite out of date. Also probably worth posting on SE23 forum although there are some other mums on here with children there who really like it.
