as the title asks, got the offer, its our first choice so v pleased. What happens next? Do the school get in touch?

First - make sure you accept the place!
Then, yes, you should get an acceptance pack from the school, with lots of information and various dates. They might offer a parents evening to answer your questions before your child starts, many schools offer a home visit so that your child can meet the Reception teacher before starting school and so that you can talk about anything specific to your child. Those visits are not compulsory, of course.
It might take a few weeks, though, for the pack to arrive.
