Any other Scottish MNers waiting to hear about placing requests?

Aaaargh!! I really thought we would have heard by now!!!

Does anyone think it's worth phoning up either the school or the council or are they unlikely to be able to tell me anything?

the council should be able to tell you when you'll hear - prob won't give the result though

Edinburgh's high schools came out 2 weeks ago and the P1's came out on Saturday.

Which council are you? I think some have heard

we too are still waiting to hear. i did have a letter when i put the request in saying that the latest we would hear was 30th April (after which appeals can go in) and we are in Fife if thats any help. I also spoke to nursery today and they told me that no-one had a letter yet (not sure if that was just our school or fife wide though), and that included catchment children.

The speed with which you hear may depend on how many placement requests they receive. (I got mine for DS's undersubscribed secondary by return of post). With a popular school they will have to establish priority. The school definitely won't be able to tell you anything. The council will may not be able to tell you if you have a place but would be able to tell you what the position is and give you some idea of the timeframe.

It's Glasgow city council. I phoned the education dept and they said that no letters at all had been sent out yet. They were all being sent in one batch at the very end of April.

I'll have to be patient!!

Anyone know what to do if placing request is refused? We just heard, really gutted! It's a populate school (in Glasgow) though so unsure on what grounds we could appeal anyway, as didn't have priority

Cathbell - we are south Lanarkshire and got refused today too. Totally gutted but unfortunately not the only one it happened to. We are appealing though.
