May need to take our year 2 and 4 dc out of school for 1 day. (Holiday overlap and other reasons)
Concerned that we may be fined £200
Anyone know if this is likely?

Hi, this is highly unlikely, do you not have time to let them know?, at our daughters school, you can put in up to two weeks a year term time holiday requests, also with the ages of your children, taking one day off school is hardly going to be detremental to their education!, i wouldnt worry about it.

Was fined for 2 days over - lots of schools having a crackdown with zero tolerance for non-authorised absences. This was even though there had been no previous days off - so an excellent attendance.

I know school is not able to approve holiday so it would be unauthorised. Just don't know how fines are decided. It's not clear.
