Good afternoon all, I'm looking to move back to Halifax in the summer holidays, my family is there and although I don't live too far away I have no idea about the schools and what area's they are!!

Once I have ideas I shall have to email the local LEA and then find out if they have the spaces after the long holidays!

She will be going into year 4... You may have seen a post I did just before the holidays about her school and how slack they are.

(If anyone can link to this as I'm on my phone, I would appreciate this!)

TIA

I think the school in Elland is Old Earth - otherwise it depends what area of Halifax you're looking for. The LEA for Halifax, Brighouse, Rastrick and Elland etc is Calderdale and this is their website.

Thank you scooter, I went to Old Earth so I know the school well, they don't have any places tho :( I'm wondering about pellon/sowerby areas...

Christ Church in Sowerby Bridge is lovely (my mum used to work there!). I know Pellon doesn't have the best of reputations but I think some of the schools have worked hard to get their standards back up. Ripponden is nice as well.

Triangle School is a lovely little village school and has really good ofsted reports but may be oversubscribed?

Thank you both, I shall email the school and if they have space, concentrate the search there!! Thank you!!
