Dear all,
We are planning to send our dd to Milbourne Lodge pre-prep. Currently live in Southfields,South West London, but are going to move out to Surrey.
Walton has come up as a possible- anyone know what the commute is like?
Thanks

Ouch! Walton to Esher will be horrendous traffic although Esher to clay gate ok (return journey a bugger though!) why not Esher or claygate itself?

Yup, Claygate great to live in, though the trains are slower than the Walton ones. Thames Ditton would be doable also and then Surbiton station (v good service) would be easily accessible.

Thanks twitchy and thedowager!
There seems to be a greater selection of houses in our price range in Walton.
I really love Claygate- my dh grew up in Claygate and went to Milbourne and loved it lots!!! He still plays sport everyday as he did there.
Houses seem to be few and far between in terms of coming on the market in Claygate- I guess that is explained by the size of the place.
Does Claygate have lots of young families?

I would say yes, loads of young families in Claygate, with playgroups and clubs and a real villagey feel.
