Or long sleeved polo shirts, but in yellow? Dresses need to be green. DD2 appears to burn at the slightest exposure and school have a children apply sun cream policy which at 4 isn't going to cut it Confused.

There are some Ralph Lauren yellow boys polo shirts on ebay. I have never seen long sleved summer dresses, but you can probably get the material and make one, or find someone to do it for you.

The school may let you come up at lunchtime and put some on her. I put it on before school, but luckily mine just don't burn anyway.

How about a thin long sleeved top underneath a dress. It does get very hot in classrooms in the summer (all those bodies) and so maybe a light cardie for playtime - look on Australian websites for ideas as they have lots of stuff to protect kids.

Or you could use P20. It's a non-greasy sunscreen that you can put on in the morning and it will last all day. You can get it in Boots.

Just a word about P20, it's not suitable for everyone. I am very fair skinned and burned when I used it.

I would either make a dress, or buy a standard sundress, and customise it with white or green cotton sleeves (jersey or plain cotton) It wouldnt be too difficult to just create the 'tubes' and sew them in to the existing sleeves. I guess you'd have to check with the school if this was acceptable though.

I came up with the idea of sewing sleeves on to dresses in the middle of the night! There's a girl who wears a top underneath for religious reasons so I am sure will be fine. Also found long sleeved yellow blouses at John Lewis in the private school section (along with adorable summer dresses, had to step away from the £47 ones!). Thank you everyone.
