hello,just a quick question

im due to move, from where i am living now is about 20 mins drive away, different borough .
my son is doing so well at school he's in year 3 and i would hate to have to change his school ,if i am willing to drive him to school and pick him up ,could the school tell me to look for a school closer to where i move
or could i just continue to take him to the same school ,sorry if it sounds a silly question .
many thanks

Your son's place won't be affected. Younger siblings might not get in though.

he's my only child ...really his place wont be affected?....i thought being in a different area it would ,i work directly across the road from his school and work 9-3 so im hoping that would help too ,i just want to keep him where he is ,good education ,good friends.

Yes your son can still go to the same school. My son goes to my mums school which is 11 miles away.

Yes it will be fine, it's just when applying area is important. Hence why so many rent in a good area then move away.

The only thing to bear in mind is secondary school admissions. Will he be able to get into the same schools as his friends etc. It's worth checking the criteria for the secondary schools near where you will live and also the ones that the school feed into and see whether the distance is important.

As others have said your son can continue to attend his current school. Some schools get this wrong so don't let them tell you that he has to move.
