Just wanted to hear thoughts and comments from anybody who had gone through the assessment process at Habs or NLCS at 7+ in particular from a state school and whether they had been successful.

My DD goes to a school which is not very academic. She appeared for 7 plus exam at NLCS, HABS and St Helen's. She was called for interview at NLCS and HABS and was not offered a place. She has been offered a place at St Helen's. I started preparing her from November 2011.Mainly bond papers up to age of 8. I believe if I had started earlier she had a better chance. I am glad that she came that far with just 2 months preparation and without a background of a feeder prep school . Start preparing her much in advance. Make her do Level 3 Sats papers as well.

Just think that irrespective of whether she gets or not , gaining knowledge is always good. It will be a good foundation for 11 plus.
