Child:Staff Ratio for travelling/swimming lessons?

What is the Child:Staff ratio when travelling and at swimming lessons?

Reason i ask is my Child's school take two classes together. Currently years 2 and 5 (altogether 50 children minimum) on a coach and my son being one of the youngest (August Born) has always struggled to get himself together and recently mentioned he couldn't find his cubicle, and only did so by spotting his towel on the floor-No teacher in sight :-/

Feeling like i need to pull him out for safety reasons and also it is making him very anxious when they are rushed to get out and ready..He is a very laid back child who begs not to go and he never ever complains about anything...

Normally it's 1:10, but best ask the school because different LAs have different approaches.

If there are statemented children then extra adults should go.

I'm sorry to hear that your son didn't have a good experience- make sure you mention it to the teacher so someone can keep an eye out for him.

Thank you for your reply and the link.. I have bought it to attention of his teacher who was lovely but as nice as she was, she doesn't go with them. I'm honestly thinking of offering to take and collect him myself as his anxiety is very sad to see. So not his usual character. I appreciate it must be so frustrating overseeing so many children but their lack of staff is the root cause I feel. My son achieves highly in school and is a sensible soul so I feel they are expecting too much as this is where his age does show.

One example was, they pulled up and got off the coach, swam then boarded the coach where the driver had turned the coach round my son said he thought he was in the wrong seat so got up and moved, into a different seat and was then shouted at to remember where he sat! He is so upset leading upto swimming day and obviously relieved the day after but then a wreck again leading up etc etc.... He attends other swimming lessons fine, it's just the worry of doing something wrong again!
