DS needs support in maths....recommendations for websites please.

DS in year 3, has just been moved to the lowest maths group to help his self esteem apparently as he was struggling in the middle group. Not a problem if the teachers feel he's in the right group then I will go along with that.

However, what websites would you recommend for us to use at home. We've used the KS2 BBC bitesize and don't really like those. Any others?

Ps I've had children take off with maths when being top of a lower group rather than bottom of a higher!

DD2 has moderate SEN and really struggles with maths. She uses Sumdog which they also use at school.

DS has access to mymaths.co.uk via the school. They set homework tasks on here but he can also use it for exploring other topics on his own. It's a good site, and seems to explain things clearly.

Sometimes it would be great to just be told that by his teacher as I'm sure thats partly the reason he's been lowered. He does suffer with self confidence and being able to do something is always reassuring and bolsters you. !

I love the Khan Academy

It looks a bit advanced at first sight (I often use it myself when I need to refresh how to do something I haven't done for ages) but skip down the page to Arithmetic and pre-Algebra for simpler stuff. Starts at 1 +1!
