I recieved a letter from my daughters primary school today saying that they believe she is a able/gifted/ talented child in maths & literacy, they also gave me a leaflet with what they said on the letter had support and games for both kids & parents. So far only 2 of the 16 websites have games for kids, the downside is to become a member i have to pay a monthly fee or yearly fee. Does anyone know any websites that could help my daughter carry on with her maths & literacy skills? I'd hate for her to miss out on the oppertunity to take advantage of her skills at the age of 5.

The BBC have a good site. I really wouldn't pay, sounds like a scam to me.

Surely it is the school's job to ensure she is sufficiently stretched? You should not have to pay to join websites for that sort of thing.

Woodlands Junior in Kent have a great website with lots of sheets and activities for able children.

There are lots of free websites mentioned in past threads, specially for maths. Have a search. Check the G&T section of the forum, google possibilities. Also, if I had to spend money, I'd spend it on the lots of books for every level they sell at WHS, Waterstones or Amazon. Best way to stretch literacy IMO is reading and word games like Bananagrams, Boggle, Articulate.

Thanks guys! You've put my mind at ease! I couldnt believe the prices a few of them wanted to sign up or become a member so my daughter could use it. & that was on a leaflet that the school gave me. xx
