Please help me prepare for first ever consultation (parent's evening) and deciphering feedback

Please help me decipher this: CLL - W5, W6,W7 and W8. Google helps with Communication Language and Literacy but nothing useful for W5 to 8.

Any tips about what to ask for a Reception Parent's Evening? I don't want to be blinded by terminology.

I am very happy with my DS's progress. He seems very happy - thank goodness.

Writing scale points
w5 Holds a pencil and uses it effectively to form recognisable letters, most of which
are correctly formed

W8 Begins to form captions and simple sentences, sometimes using punctuation

Thanks so much.

A piece of work was sent home with CLL - W5, W6,W7 and W8 annotated on it. No assessment or comment.

Blush - I have seen this assessment chart but didn't equate Wx to a writing point.
