Admission policy query?

Looking at schools I have seen one with 'children of all staff currently in the school' as part of it's admission policy. Is this common?

They are probably an academy, it was judged to be unfair by the ombudsman, but I have heard that Academies can have this as an admissions criteria.
So it's not common, but is a good sign if staff want to send their kids there.

This has been reintroduced as a potential admission criteria and schools can have it in their admission criteria for sept 2013 entry.

So the question is whether it is on a current admission criteria or is on a proposed criteria for next year?

This is for 2013/2014 admissions and it has recently become an academy so that could explain it.
