what do you think are the best ways to encourage a child to be a well-motivated, independent learner. I'm thinking that the younger the better is the way to go - what do you all think? What worked for your kids - or what would you avoid doing if you had a chance to turn the clock back?

  1. Praise for effort not achievement.
  1. Be genuine with your praise. Don't praise all the time for no reason.
  1. Don't do their HW for them :) or with them. It's their HW they need to take responsibility for it.
  1. Lots of access to a pc :)
  1. Lots of books
