Key words for ORT?

Ds2 has lost his "word wall" for stage 3 ORT.

He hasn't had it since the start of term. The teacher won't give him another one because "It must be at home somewhere"

It isn't. I remember folding it and putting it in his homework diary the morning after he first got it.

I have tried to remember the words, stuff like jumped and climbed I think.

Does anyone have a list? I have googled but no joy.

What a cow. Have you tried intervening yourself? Go into the classroom and explain you cannot find one and need a replacement. I would escalate to head if she digs her heels in.

Can't help I'm afraid as ds only in reception.

Wallace · 09/02/2012 19:35

I did speak to her and she told me to have another look at home. I even told her I would happily pay for a photocopy.

Unfortunately she is the head...

Complain to the governors then. It's a photocopy. She is being a knob.

Chubfuddler · 09/02/2012 19:39

In fact before you escalate to the governments I would say to her "I have searched at home and cannot find it. I'm sorry for the inconvenience but these things happen sometimes. If you will not give him another copy I will have to put this in writing to the governors which is dilly over something so trivial. ".

Chubfuddler · 09/02/2012 19:40

Governors, not government. Stupid iPhone predictive text. Obviously I don't think Michael Gove needs to step in. Not yet anyway.

Wallace · 09/02/2012 19:43

Lol at government Grin

I did speak again yesterday to the teacher that covers ds's teachers management time and she said she will mention it. So here's hoping.

What a witch!

My DS is in year 1 and on ORT level 6 and I have never heard of such a thing as a "word wall". Perhaps you could ask another mum in your class before tackling the teacher again?

Wallace · 09/02/2012 19:48

One of the mums has said she will give me a copy but think she has forgootten.

It is possible the teacher has forgotten too, but she should be using it with him in class.

It had bee missing for two weeks before I went in to ask if he should have been bringing it home. She said yes and that everyone else had their's apart from my ds.

I was a bit Hmm that she hadn't mentioned it to me...

Wallace what are the words? Ds just got a new word sheet and 'climbed' is on it. I wonder if he is moving onto level 3 after half term.

tigrmum · 11/02/2012 19:05

you can find all the keywords for all the levels here on the web. I found these after losing ours twice...
