Hi MNetters
DD will be 8 in September and we have found it hard to get an indie place in London since we are going to be moving there from Surrey for work reasons. Now considering boarding at RAAS for my little angel, but I'm so torn over having to make that decision so early in her life. Basically, we wanted an academically selective independent school as she has been really amazing in her current indie, but we also wanted a school with wraparound care as work will mean we can't do the 3.20pm school run. We have missed the assessment deadlines for most of the London prep schools due to not knowing of the need to move her earlier really. We have heard Royal Alexander and Albert is a very decent state school and it takes care of the after school part as well. We have the choice to board fully and she can come home every weekend after Saturday classes. Has anyone sent their child there at 7+? I have seen a few older posts on MN where OPs have older DCs at RAAS but anyone have any thoughts or knowledge of whether being a state boarding school, their resources are comparable tot he private sector? And for this age?
