I am trying to choose between these two schools for my daughter. Are there any parents from these schools who could give any guidance or input?
Many thanks!

My DD1 is at MG and loves it. Not pushy at all. Really kind caring teachers and other parents in our class are all lovely as are the girls. I went to HM myself which was also good..long time ago though!

We live in Gerrards Cross and have just put our daughter in Lower nursery and we're so so pleased we did. Fabulously caring school.

(High March that is!)

Some love it and some hate it. Did you decide?

I would look at st marys. My eldest daughter is there (yr 10) after having been at High March, Maltmans Beccy High (went abroad fro 2 years) and back to St Marys. Love the school. Great pastoral care....small classes...lovely lovely girls and best science results in the county this year!!! People have looked down their nose at this school for ages (myself included) but new head Jean Ross is kicking a....!!!! Alsogot a yr 6er (currently at Maltmans) going to Godstowe for yr 7 and have a little at Maltmans so am a fountain of info!! Boy is at Caldicott. (FAB SCHOOL)

Hi,

I was interested to know what those based Beaconsfield do if they want their DD in private co-ed until 13. Is Chesham prep the only local co-ed prep option? I am moving to Beaconsfield and daughters are young. Any experience on this much appreciated :)

With two girls and looking at 13+ entry (assuming you want a boarding school) then Godstowe is your best bet. I know it’s not co-Ed but so many of the other preps really concentrate on the Bucks 11+. The majority of girls leave at 11 too, even if they tell you otherwise. Chesham Prep rarely has girls stay as they tend to go onto either the grammars or schools like Berkhamsted with a main 11+ entry point. Godstowe has a proper Y7 and 8 and prepares properly.

It’s probably too far but the other prep to 13 worth a look is Beechwood Park. Westbrook Hay has girls staying for the first time this year - not sure if it will continue or just a blip though.

Gayhurst takes girls too, but no longer goes up to 13.
The state schools in beaconsfield are pretty good (and co-Ed). I wouldn’t discount girl’s schools - go and have a look at the options.

We had a very bad experience with this school - so much so that we removed our daughter and placed her into another local IS.
