hi one of the primary schools we put on DSs school form has just been granted academy status. we are out of catchment and it was our second choice, but should we get offered a place, what likely difference (if any) would being an academy make to the school / his schooling? i had read in their newsletters that they had applied, but it now seems its all systems go from april.
just wondered if anyone could explain academies to me? what difference (apart from they way that they are funded) does it actually make to the schools?
