Can anybody give me an insight into which primary and secondary schools are the best in West Berkshire?

There are a number of good schools in the area. Achievement is generally higher than the national average. It's a wide area so where are you thinking?

All of the village school's are really good, as are the a number of the town ones. The best thing to do is go and look around them and get a feel for them. Newbury is a lovely town and a good place to live. I would avoid the Greenham and Fir tree areas, but wash common and Speen are nice. Hope that helps!

Ps historically for academic achievement St Barts in Newbury, The Kennet in Thatcham and The Downs just north of newbury are outstanding/very good secondarys.
