Moving to Surrey

We are selling up in London and moving to Surrey. We intend to rent for a year or two until we have decided where to buy. The co- ed prep schools in Surrey seem to be very good. ( our ds is 5yrs and our dd is 3yrs) we are struggling a little to choose one. Has anyone any experience of Edgeborough School. I like Highfield School too.
Also, we have found a house in Lower Bourne. Is this a good area to settle in and provide a good social life for us as a family? I would really appreciate some feedback/ information about this area and the surrounding area. Perhaps we should go further a field to get bigger housing but we don't want to be too far from a train station as my DH needs to commute to London Waterloo. Thanks

Woking train station is only 20 mins into Waterloo and there are nice villages nearby, Sunninghill, Chobham, Sunningdale, Windlesham, Virginia Water are all very nice villages. An excellent co-ed prep is Hall Grove and is easily reachable from all those villages. Sunninghill & Windlesham might give you a better option with regards to community and social life as they are more villagey. hope that helps!

I have been focusing my attention on being South of Guildford or there a bouts, as it appears to be a great city. There are a great many schools, it's just deciding onnthe one that's right for my kids. We have had to expand our house search to hindhead, liphook, Godalming. I am aware that there will be a commute involved to get to school but am just concerned that considering that everyone will be driving a distance to school, does this impact on playdates etc. Would love to hear feedback on distances people are prepared to travel to get to school and they fair in terms of getting together with friends etc. Thanks in advance.
