Hi,

I'm looking at pre-prep schools for reception for my DD and am currently considering Talbot Heath, mainly as it is all girls. Have been told it is very regimented and people have suggested I wait until 7+ or even 11+ to send her there. Anyone with any experience of their pre prep who can give me pros/cons please?

I went there from the age of 7-16.

I loved the prep school, hated the senior school.

You may say this is irrelevant as things move on.

I took my teenage daughter on an open day.

The head of the prep is the same as when I was there, a significant number of the teachers both prep and senior were the same as I had.

I felt that too little in the school had changed in the years since I left.

Thank you. That is very interesting, Sohungrymustdiet.

Does anyone else know much about the school? The open day is soon.

It really depends what you are looking for. I don't know how old sohungrymustdiet is and when she left TH but I thought it was excellent, really impressive and I have visited three schools. The sporting facilities are outstanding, academically it's very impressive.

Personally, I think if you are a competitive and very driven then it's for you, if you aren't competitive at all then I think you would be better off at a less competitive school, try Clayesmore.
