Can anyone recommend KS1 numeracy and literacy workbooks please?

DS is 6 and in year 2 at school. He is a summer born boy, and the youngest in his class. I want to help him practice his literacy and numeracy at home so I'm off to the shops at the weekend to buy some workbooks so I know what sort of things to help him with. I know there are probably loads of these types of books on the market so my question is, is there an 'official' one that follows the national curriculum? Thanks

OP There are so many on the market! Personally I would say pick one that states that it supports the national curriculum and that you and your son like the style of - some that I have looked at just seem really "busy" and confusing. I like the WHSmith ones and DD does too, which is the most important thing because learning should be fun and you do not want to switch your son off.
