Pewley Down or Waverely Abbey/Four Marks or Ropley or Sunhill?

Hi there,

I am trying to choose between the Pewley Down and Waverley Abbey primary schools in Surrey. Does anyone have any thoughts or views of them?

Also, does anyone know anything about Four Marks, Ropley or Sunhill Juniors near Winchester way? We are going to go and have a look at them in the next few months but would be so grateful if anyone had any thoughts.

Thank you!

Four Marks is a super school but the HT has just retired, so about to go through a time of change I guess.

Four Marks/Ropley/Sunhill: It depends where you are living. Ropley is possibly much more of a village with a centre. KS2 results are similar to Four Marks.

Alresford is a town junior school so larger in take per year group.

Four Marks is as Riverside mentioned a very good school too.

I went to Ropley Junior school many years ago and have visited the area since and would be happy to move my children to the current school (except they are far too old now!). I think when you visit the area you will get a feel for the place and where you are going to live and that will make the school decision easier.

Interesting replies - many thanks. Interesting about the Head retiring at Four Marks - will either make it better or ruin things - let's hope it's the former. I know all the areas so will see where we end up! What on earth happened to Cheriton - it was an outstanding school last time we looked and the Ofsted report I looked at last night was awful!!!
