I have name changed for this as it will easily out me to anyone i know.

Today my son played his first game for the school football team. He is in Yr 5 and the youngest team member by 13months. He was very nervous.

The team got beat 3-2 and no matter how much my DH, DC's and his coach told him what a fab job he had done he still felt a bit fed up. However, as we were packing up the car a mother of a child on the opposing team arrived to collect her son and began to chat to our DS. She said 'wow, I hear you put up some fight, they were saying how good you were and that they (Her DS and team mates) will have to train very hard to beat you guys again as it was so close. My DH said you were the star of the team!!!' His little frown was turned upside down!

My heart melted, I can't put into words how greatfull I am to this lady who simply saw a rather fed up boy and choose to make him feel good about himself. So if you are a fellow mum's netter, and hang around in Devon car parks... THANKS! :)
